Translate, if you can

Hi, there!

It has been a long time since I last came to this side of the site. As a matter of fact it has been almost two years. Today, I decided to write this update for those who might be wondering…

As you might have noticed, I am no longer writing in English. This is due to many reasons but primarily, time management. Between juggling a Master’s degree, plus learning Icelandic at university level, my job, and mundane life stuff, I could only write in between here and there, but translating required much more brain energy, which I don’t have. Also there was the problem that sometimes I write in Spanish in a way that it is very difficult to translate. The English version got a special guest, A. (a.k.a my husband), who wrote for some time while we were visiting Mexico, about his views of my country during our stay. That was technically the last content in this language. Multiple changes had occurred since then. A big one regarding the looks of the site. As time passes, both versions stopped mirroring each other, and that is something that I will fix slowly but surely. For example, now we have a Youtube channel, which serves as an audiovisual version of the site, as well as a Podcast, where I share with my sister our immigration journey here in Iceland. As it is for now, I won’t be returning to write here in English, as I did once, although I plan to bring some of the translated versions of the best content of the Spanish site. Hopefully once a month, but that is wishful thinking if I am being honest.

I encourage whoever is reading this, to check out the Spanish version of the site. It is definitely worth it. If you don’t know Spanish, it is a really great excuse to start learning the language… Just kidding... you can easily use google translate directly on the website (right click as seen on the image below).

¡Hasta la vista!
