Christmas ice cream

Ice cream

Let's talk about Christmas desserts. Ice cream culture in Iceland is quite peculiar, and on Christmas, this fascination for cold over already frozen is no exception. This may not be fully explored, but while searching sources for this text, I found pages and pages of forums where Icelanders share recipes for making ice cream.

It is not that it is ONE TRADITIONAL TYPE of ice cream, the simple fact of making the dessert seems to me the most curious, considering, again ... that it is very cold outside! In stores, for example, they sell ice cream with Christmas motifs that include the now famous Jólasveinar. By the way, today Þvörusleikir arrived.

On Christmas Day, after the banquet that is served and as an intermission between the gift openings, I had tried ice cream made by one of A.'s relatives. They serve it with fruits and a chocolate syrup.

Some yesterdays ago, I wrote a text on the subject of eating ice cream when it's cold, I still can't understand the science behind it (if there is any) but there have been days that I did crave to eat ice cream, even when in times of heat in Mexico, it rarely happened to me, especially after a yogurt ice cream from a well-known brand made me sick... Pro tip: do not eat yogurt ice cream in times of high heat. Let’s keep going.

Ice cream is not the only thing they sell in its Christmas version, for example they sell coffee with a Christmas flavour. In the image you can see one of the many options available in the market, chocolate with caramel and star-shaped chocolates ...

The question that remains is, do you fancy ice cream in the cold season?
