About Us

Welcome to La Island !

What is La Island?

I don't know how to define this, because at the time I'm writing this description I've just barely started the site. But I can tell you some things that La Island is not. It's not a tourist information site, although you could find information about places and things to visit. It's not a site for visa information, work permits, or any other migration process, but you could get an idea of how it could be going through the system with my anecdotes. It's not just a blog, because (I hope) to be able to elaborate articles with information that not come only from my experience. La Island is a personal project to share anecdotes, facts, curiosities, and stories about Iceland. And maybe something more. The site is mainly in Spanish, but there is a good amount of content available in English.

About the name

Ísland is the official name of Iceland. It occurred to me that I could Castilianize it (or making it Spanish sounding) with an article, as we usually do with names in Mexico. La Dani, El Javi, El Beto, La Irma, then why not La Island? Also, it reminded me of the Mexican lottery game, so there you have it ...
